We have in our possesion what we believe is a Northwood Klondyke, fluted scrolls, 3 footed candy dish, vaseline. This in itself is nothing unusual as we have seen many, but this one has a ring of faint flowers in a pattern on the underside. 3 flowers between each foot and they can be seen as well as felt. Has anybody ever come across such a piece? If so could you enlighten us as to what we have? Thanks! Bob February 3, 2015 8:43 pm Reply This is called Fluted Scrolls with Flower Band or also known as Jackson. Made by Northwood. TJ in Seattle January 29, 2015 3:50 am Reply Hello–Congratulations on the new site! I’m a beginner enthusiast of Vaseline glass and have just acquired a few great little pieces. I would like to ask your informed insight as to how safe Vaseline glass is, and whether veteran collectors take a special precautions or practices when storing, handling or collecting this beautiful glasswork. I know that it’s a layperson question but I just need to ask. Thanks! Vaseline Glass Collectors, Inc. Ellen March 26, 2015 3:58 pm Reply First time here. I was at Goodwill a week ago and saw a man with a UV flashlight and a Geiger counter and asked what he was doing. He was so kind and told me he was looking for radiation glass. He answered all of my questions. I felt like I was on an episode of Antiques Road Show. I was fascinated by this and went home and ordered a UV flashlight. Yesterday I found a piece at a Salvation Army. It was absolutely beautiful. I do believe I am hooked. If I could I would post a picture of it. paula peixe March 28, 2015 4:52 am Reply I recentely discovery vaseline glasses… and they are wonderful. hope I can became a collector here where I live kindest regards Vaseline Glass Collectors, Inc. Carol snyder June 21, 2015 7:27 am Reply Hello. Modest collector here. I fell in love with the collection of my college boyfriend’s mother and started collecting in the ’90’s. I just love it. My favourite piece may be my iron shaped covered butter or cheese dish. The iron was always my favourite piece on the Monopoly board. I would like to expand and collect some jewelry. I have 9 different pieces of Vaseline glass. They are either marked or engraved. I am always interested in adding pieces that I don’t have. Does anyone know of a comprehensive list of souvenir pieces from the fair? Thanks in advance for your help. Kind regards, Russ Rebekah Vassar November 30, 2015 9:36 pm Reply I love your site. Joan Jones July 29, 2016 9:12 pm Reply Hello! I recently discovered your website and I am sending in the membership form. Also, I will be attending the 2016 VGCI Convention in Norfolk VA. I am excited to become a member of this group and I’m anxious to learn more about this beautiful form of glass artwork. I began collection VG in 1979 with just one little piece. I now have several pieces of which I am very proud to own! The convention is a great location, especially since my husband and I own a little condo in Norfolk, about 10 minutes from the convention site. I will probably spend a lot of time at the hotel and I’m looking forward to meeting the other members of this group. If anybody needs more information about the Norfolk area, just contact me via email and I will gladly share the knowledge that I have of this area. Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to become a VG member! Bob August 16, 2016 7:39 pm Reply Happy to see you have registered for Convention Joan! See you in October! Shari September 8, 2016 8:10 pm Reply I have a vaseline dinnerware piece, straight sides, with 2 pitcher shapes, on each side. I can’t remember what it is called, I think it is a spoon washer. Have you heard of this?? I can send a photo if needed. Thanks, Shari Vaseline Glass Collectors, Inc. March 20, 2017 5:00 pm Reply We would certainly need to see a photo before making a call on what it might be. Post a picture and let’s take a look! Russ Frank October 5, 2017 3:18 pm Reply Is anyone going to the Convention that can be on the lookout for pieces of Vaseline glass marked World’s Fair 1893. I am looking for examples of several pieces. I would be willing to pay a finders fee or any information leading to the purchase of a piece that I can add to my collection. In addition, I am trying to put together a comprehensive list of pieces from the fair and I would be most anxious to correspond with anyone who owns a piece or would like to sell a piece.
